Gargoyle, Conker's Bad Fur Day

The Gargoyle is a character in Conker's Bad Fur Day and Conker: Live & Reloaded.

Physical traits

The Gargoyle is a huge, dark gray gargoyle. Like average gargoyles, he has horns, an arrow tail, and small wings. He has glowing, red eyes and three claws on each hand.

Gargoyle's appearance was updated in Conker: Live & Reloaded. His body was recolored to light gray, like the color of a stone. His horns were made larger, and they curve like the letter 'c'. His wings were also made larger. Gargoyle's bottom mouth plate was redesigned with a large fang coming out of both sides.

Biography

Conker smacks the Gargoyle with his Frying Pan.

When Conker is about to exit the Hungover chapter from a stone, he bumps into the Gargoyle, a large creature blocking the exit to the Windy hub world. The Gargoyle refuses to move off the bridge because he previously sat on a piece of "gothic architecture" for 200 years and finds the bridge more comfy. Conker asked if it was too early to discuss gothic architecture, and the Gargoyle replied that they can talk about "things of another nature" if Conker came a bit closer to him. If Conker tries to pass Gargoyle, he picks up Conker and throws him at the end of the bridge.

In retaliation, Conker whacks the Gargoyle with a Frying Pan. He stands up and laughs at Conker as he found the attack useless. Conker grinned and mockingly waved at him, with a thought bubble reading, "See ya". The Gargoyle accidentally trips off the bridge and collapses down the waterfall. When the Gargoyle crashes into the ground below, he creates an impact that causes a boulder to fall in front of the exit.

Gargoyle's body is later seen at the bottom of the waterfall after Conker finishes the Spooky chapter. This is similar to when Bugger Lugs drowned in the flooded Poo Cabin. Gargoyle is not seen here in Live & Reloaded because he was defeated differently.

Gargoyle explains the designer's decision to slightly alter the area.

Gargoyle's role was changed in the remake, Conker: Live & Reloaded. When Conker approaches Gargoyle and slams him with his Frying Pan, he laughs it off. However, unlike last time, he does not trip off the bridge. Conker, breaking the fourth wall, knew that the Gargoyle was meant to fall off. Conker asks the Gargoyle why he did not collapse. The Gargoyle explains that the designer decided to slightly alter the area to deceive players into thinking the game would be a straight port. He tells Conker to find another way of defeating him. Conker then says from a thought bubble, "Hmm. Well. Lucky I brought this as well then!". Conker pulls out the Baseball Bat and knocks it the Gargoyle's. The Gargoyle expressionlessly says, "Ouch". He stands up and trips backward onto the rocky walls. The impact causes a boulder to fall in front of the pathway, and it crashes on Gargoyle and breaks him into pieces.
