An Uga-Buga with a wolf headgear.
This article is about the cavemen species. For the sixth chapter of the game, see Uga Buga.
Not to be confused with the leader of the Uga Buga tribe or Buga the Knut.

The Uga-Buga are a tribe of cavemen and prominent characters in the eponymous chapter, Uga Buga, in Conker's Bad Fur Day and its Xbox remake, Conker: Live & Reloaded. Their leader is a large caveman, Buga the Knut, who also has a large girlfriend, Jugga. The Uga-Bugas only have one sub-species, the Surf Punks. Uga-Bugas are the only humanoid characters in the Conker series.

Appearance

Uga-Bugas are short cavemen wielding a large bone or club for attacking others. They wear a red shirt with black spots and blue shoes. They have a big lower jaw, with a few teeth coming out. Uga-Bugas are bald, but some wear a wolf head for headgear.

History

Adventure

Most Uga-Bugas are among Conker's enemies. The first two Uga-Bugas he encounters patrol a side of the Uga-Buga head statue, which Conker pounded down as an Anvil earlier. They attempt to whack Conker with their clubs. He cannot defeat them with his Frying Pan (or Baseball Bat), which momentarily flips them over. Conker must pound the Uga-Buga statue again to open a door below. Conker must roll a dormant Rock'ard from outside of Rock Solid and through the door to defeat some Uga-Bugas and open a blocked entrance.

This leads to the volcanic portion, where Conker finds a few Uga-Bugas worship a large stone deity, the Dragon Statue. Like the chapter's first two Uga-Bugas, they also attempt to attack Conker. There are more along the path to a giant egg housing Dino Baby. Upon hatching, the Dino Baby follows Conker and eats Uga-Bugas it comes across.

Later, Conker exits back out of the Dragon Statue's mouth, with his new headgear. He is approached by four Uga-Bugas, whom Conker assumed would be attacked by. However, since he entered from their idol, the four Uga-Bugas worshiped him. Conker requests them to beat up the Rock'ards located outside of Rock Solid. In a similar instance with the Dino Baby, Conker must slowly lead the four Uga-Bugas, because they easily get lost. When he returns to Rock Solid, Conker must attack every Rock'ard with a Frying Pan (or Baseball Bat) as a cue for the four Uga-Bugas to attack and break them apart.

After doing so, Conker must greet the nightclub's Bouncer, who only allows them to enter if they know the password. Conker asks the Uga-Bugas, who tell him "fedelio" (which he at first misheard as Template:W). Some Uga-Bugas in outfits appear in Rock Solid, few of whom presumably followed Conker there.

Later, Don Weaso assigns Conker a task to kill the whole Uga-Buga race with a Bomb. This is because Weaso deems them out of place for the ecosystem. Conker later drops the Bomb off the ledge, where he also found a dead Uga-Buga and its headgear. Even after he kills some Uga-Bugas, Conker still encounters more: he gets in a Hoverboard race with three Surf Punks, who stole his Cash.

Conker ends up in the Arena directly after the race. He finds himself in the middle of an event, likely organized by Buga the Knut. Out of entertainment, Buga has Conker battle some Uga-Bugas while a large raptor, Fangy, attempts to eat him and the Uga-Bugas (similar to the Dino Baby). Conker must tame Fangy, then control him to either eat every Uga-Buga or ram them in the lava. They must fight three Uga-Buga waves in total, each with a higher difficulty. In the second wave, Buga sends out Uga-Bugas holding a sword and shield, and lastly the third wave, who throw arrows at the duo. Buga is shocked that Conker and Fangy managed to defeat each swarm and decides to fights them himself. The normal Uga-Bugas are not shown again (excluding the spectators in the Arena).

Multi

Uga-Bugas are playable characters in the Raptor mini-game of Bad Fur Day's Multi mode. Additionally, from the main menu, the player can access the Cheats menu (under Options) and enter "EATBOX" to unlock Uga-Bugas for Deathmatch mode.

Trivia

  • Uga-Buga and the chapter Uga Buga are spelled similarly except the chapter does not have a hyphen.
